More about the author I have an atomic clock on the wall over my monitor and both clocks advance to the next minute within milliseconds of each other.

HOWEVER…. Nothing worked. I found it was the firewall i was running, Windows Defender does not have an effect on the time but McAfee's firewall seemed to have been blocking it. If the battery goes bad, the chip starts losing information and one of the symptoms is that your computer no longer maintains its time and date.
